Cancer is the leading cause of death from disease among children and adolescents.
With the aim of promoting the development of innovative projects and initiatives in the field of pediatric oncology, the Rui Osório de Castro Foundation awards the Rui Osório de Castro / Jerónimo Martins Foundation Award.
This award aims to support the development and implementation of projects that contribute to improving the care provided to children and young people with cancer and their families.
The winning project receives financial support of €20,000, and up to two Honorable Mentions, worth €2,500 each, may also be awarded to recognize other applications of exceptional merit.
Who is it for?
Individuals, working groups, or nonprofit organizations may apply for the Rui Osório de Castro/Jerónimo Martins Foundation Award by submitting a relevant project in the field of pediatric oncology, including scientific studies, research projects, specialized training programs, or projects with psychosocial impact.
The project to be submitted must be conducted in Portugal; if it is an international study, it must include or enroll Portuguese children with cancer.
